Martin Gonzalez brings a strong background in public policy and leadership to his current position of assistant executive director, governance and policy services at the California School Board Association.
Mr. Gonzalez was instrumental in CSBA’s creation of the Children’s Health Task Force and the 2007 School Wellness Conference. Mr. Gonzalez was also instrumental in the development of the Healthy Food Policy Resource Guide, the Student Wellness: A Healthy Food and Physical Activity Policy Resource Guide, and Monitoring for Success: A Student Wellness Policy Implementation Monitoring Report and Guide.
Mr. Gonzalez has spoken to numerous local, state and national groups concerning the board’s role in policy and policy development that supports a healthy environment. Gonzalez earned a J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law, a Master’s of Arts in History and a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
